Art for Spring

luscious lilacs

The sweet scent and delicacy of lilacs in bloom, always sends me to a place of feeling at home.

tulips and tea

Nothing more comforting than hot tea and tulips to start the day right.

purple hyacinth

One of the first sweet, fragrant flowers to bloom in Spring, the hyacinth is truly a delight for the senses!

happy art -Watercolor photos

daffodil love

I don't know what symbolizes spring more than the happy, bright, yellow daffodil!

flowering white crabapple

While photographing these amazing flowering crabapple trees at the beautiful Loose Park in Kansas City, I was blasted into pure spring paradise!

autumn zinnias

Even though the title says Autumn, these Zinnias can be paired with any seasonal decor.

For your Valentine

first snow foxtails and heart

Finding hearts in nature is one of my superpowers. LOL! I found this lovely display after an early snow while on a walk with my dogs.

red berry valentine

I found this lovely red berry Valentine while visiting the beautiful Kauffman Gardens in Kansas City.

Love grows from within

You never know where love signs will appear. Deep inside is where all love lives... why not open it up for all to see.? :-)

For the Nature-Lover

I rise from a green sea of being

The title, "I Rise From a Green Sea of Being" is taken from a line in the book, Awakening Osiris - The Egyptian Book of the Dead. (pg.69)  I like finding visual metaphors to life and poetry while walking, meditating, and photographing in nature.

elephant ear

I was impressed by the glowing colors of green and yellow from the underneath side of this giant leaf.

pink blooms

These sweet blooms and buds seemed to be dancing and swaying with whimsy and delight!

For the Black & White-Lover

philosophers stone

According to the secret teachings of the ancient Egyptians, the smallest particles in the world consist of regular triangles. I found this triangle stone in the forest in Montana while on an artist residency in Boulder, MT.

ballroom dancing

Something about the snow covered berries and leaves that make me think of little fairies ball room dancing.

visiting giraffes

While completing my masters degree in Vermont in the middle of winter, I came upon these ice cycles that reminded me of a couple of giraffes with their heads beyond the frame.

For the Dreamer

pacific blue

It was a perfect sunset on El Pescadore State Beach in Malibu when I took this photo.  I remember the feeling of complete awe of the colors and textures of the sea and sky.

Jal Davi

Jal Davi is a word taken from Urdu and means water elf, eelgrass or pondweed. It seems to fit this photo of the beautiful lake shore.  It feels dreamy and calming to me.

Elysium Blue

I took  this photo of the Pacific Coastline just after sunset. The  varying color of blue from the sea and sky had me spellbound.

for the winter-lover

polka-dot snow on leaves

It was the first snow of the season and it came in early October.  I couldn't help but notice how beautiful the snow looked on the leaves of my blueberry bush.

rustic winter window

I think it was the reflection in the window that really caught my eye.  It's such a beautiful metaphor for life, clarity, and looking within.

sunlit leaves fall

On my daily walk with my dogs on a dead end street, I looked up and saw the glistening almost transparent leaves dancing in the sunlight.

Nothing as sweet as this white Arabian horse peeking out during a soft and gentle snow storm.

Spring Thunder

You can almost hear the gentle thunder of hoofs from this spirited paint.  One of my favorite things about horses is their beauty and grace while running!

As cold as it was to capture this image, the quiet and stillness of the scene and the icy coat on this gentle giant is what makes this portrait so endearing.

For the Flower-Lover

Lavender Clematis

Summer was winding down and it was early October when I  discovered this gorgeous lavender clematis.  The soft blending of colors within each petal is what drew me in.

White dogwood blooms

On my daily walk I couldn't help but notice these fresh dogwood blooms that looked like flittering butterflies.

Blueberry crowns

Like little crowned jewels of jade, these blueberries dance in clusters of delicious color!
